Fame Becomes Others, Not Me

Started the new DELIGHTFUL show: "Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me"! I have steady gainful employment for the immediate future! The tunes (by Marc Shaiman) are great, Matin Short and the cast are hilarious ( even to this jaded Broadway vet ) the conductor is relaxed and rock-solid and the band is burnin', as always! "Nice Work If You Can Get It..."! I'm definitely going to see this one, which will be the first. What?

Well, they don't give you free tickets because they are trying to MAKE money. So you have to take off a show ( forfeiting your pay for that performance ) and pay for a ticket, the same amount everyone else has to pay. It always feel like a double financial whammy so I've never actually seen any show I've done, as I haven't felt like any of them were worth the monetary kick in the groin. ( won't now launch into the interesting topic of perceiving something like a show ENTIRELY by sound and what that does for/against you ) This one is different! It's good!

Come and see it at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on 45th Street. Say "hi" into the pit!
